Lexington Guitar Teacher Ken Gibson

A Berklee School of Music Alumni, Ken is a guitarist, singer, bandleader, and educator
with a lifetime of experience playing folk, rock, country, and Americana music on
acoustic and electric guitars, in standard and open tunings.

Ken’s teaching style incorporates both structured and free musical play, leading to
increasingly deeper musical exploration and a refreshingly stress-free approach to
improvisation! This approach is based on the philosophy of Grammy Award winning
cellist David Darling, and his work with Music For People… “Music improvisation is a
unique and positive way to build skills for life-expression.”

Ken is the lead singer, guitarist, and Musical Director of the well known East Coast
band RUST NEVER SLEEPS (a Live NEIL YOUNG retrospective / The Music of DYLAN
& YOUNG), rocking the East Coast for over 23 years and continuing to regularly
perform at premium music venues throughout the Northeast.

A curious lifelong learner himself, Ken continues to learn to play new instruments and
share his passion for them. His recent interests include tenor guitar, octave mandolin,
and Irish bouzouki.

In addition to Ken’s musical endeavors, his extensive career as an educator, coach,
and mentor to at-risk young adults has allowed him to gain invaluable experience and
deep insights into the skill and art of recognizing potential, fostering motivation,
effective goal setting, and helping others to express their authentic voice
