Cleveland Trumpet Teacher Lilian Shimimana

Trumpet Specialist & Multi‐Instrument Educator

Lilian Shimimana brings over 12 years of international teaching and performance experience
to Maestro Musicians Academy Cleveland. Trumpet is her primary instrument, and she also
teaches drums, piano, bass guitar, acoustic guitar, and all brass instruments, providing a
richly diverse musical education.
Her teaching career began with Brass for Africa in Uganda, where she empowered youth
through brass instruction, ensemble leadership, and creative workshops—using music as a
tool for social change. From 2019 to 2025, she served as a member of the Music Department
at the International School of Uganda, working across the IB Middle Years and Diploma
Programmes. There, she directed school bands and jazz ensembles, delivered individual and
group lessons, and spearheaded concerts and performances.
An accomplished musician, Lilian has a Bachelor’s degree in Music and has played at
London’s prestigious Royal Albert Hall and shared the stage with internationally acclaimed
Trumpeter Allison Balsom and Guy Barker. She was also invited to speak and perform at a
women’s music conference in Nairobi, underlining her role as a leader in global music
education.
Now based in Cleveland, Lilian is thrilled to bring her warmth, creativity, and global
experience to the Maestro Musicians Academy. She believes every student has unique
potential and is passionate about helping them thrive musically, creatively, and personally.
